Is BEYOU jewelry actually waterproof?
Yes. Every BEYOU piece is designed to be worn in the ocean, pool, shower, and gym without damage. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater or chlorine exposure and dry with a soft cloth to keep it looking new.
Will BEYOU jewelry turn my skin green?
No. Our gold-filled, gold-plated, and rhodium-plated pieces are lead- and nickel-free, so they won't turn your skin green like cheap costume jewelry can. If you have very sensitive skin, our rhodium-plated and stainless steel pieces are the most hypoallergenic options.
What's the difference between gold-plated and gold-filled?
Gold-plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold electroplated over sterling silver or brass. Gold-filled jewelry has a much thicker, mechanically bonded layer of goldâtypically 5-15% of the total metal weightâmaking it far more durable and tarnish-resistant over years of daily, waterproof wear. BEYOU uses thick 18k/16k gold plating and gold-filled construction specifically so pieces hold up to saltwater and daily life; each product page lists the exact material.
How long does the gold plating last?
With normal daily wearâincluding water exposureâour thick 18k/16k gold plating and gold-filled pieces are built to hold their color for years, not months. Avoiding prolonged contact with lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals (see above) will extend that even further. Rhodium-plated pieces are tarnish-proof and won't fade at all.
Can I wear BEYOU jewelry in the ocean?
Yes! All BEYOU pieces are waterproof and saltwater-safe. Rinse with fresh water after ocean exposure and dry with a soft cloth.
Is the jewelry hypoallergenic?
